Finly NZ Limited (We, us, our) complies with the Privacy Act 2020 (Act) when dealing with any information that may be used to identify you (Personal Information).

By providing us with Personal Information, you consent to the use of your Personal Information in accordance with this privacy policy.

What information do we collect?

As our customer, we will collect certain Personal Information from you which are necessary to allow us to provide our services to you.

Personal information that we collect includes but is not limited to:

  • Personal information (Full name, date of birth, employment, address, children's ages)
  • Credit history and other financial information
  • Information about your income sources
  • Assets (Savings, contents, shares, property, vehicles, kiwisaver and any other assets)
  • Expenses (Utilities, food, personal expenses, rates, insurances, vehicle expenses and any other regular expenses)
  • Liabilities (Mortgages, credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans, hire purchases, student loans)
  • Documentation (As evidence of the above information, e.g driver's licence/passport, bank statements, payslips, evidence of deposit)

Failure to provide necessary Personal Information when requested by us may result in us not being able to provide certain services to you.

How do we use your information?

  • to undertake credit checks (if necessary)
  • to bill you and to collect money that you owe us

  • Branded Financial Services (NZ) Limited
  • Finance Now
  • Financial Holdings Limited
  • Autosure/DPL Limited
  • other third party product providers, including prospective lenders, insurers and their assignees
  • to protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim
  • your other professional advisers
  • our service outsource providers such as IT consultants, custodians, etc.
  • a person who can require us to supply your Personal Information (e.g. a regulatory authority)
  • any other person authorised by the Act or another law (e.g. a law enforcement agency)
  • any other person authorised by you

Protecting Your Personal Information

We will take reasonable steps to keep your Personal Information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may access and request correction of any of the Personal Information that we hold about you at any time by contacting us. We may charge a fee for our reasonable costs of retrieving and supplying the information to you.

Change of ownership

If our ownership changes, your Personal Information may be transferred to the new owner so that the new owner can continue providing you with services. In this event, your information will remain subject to this privacy policy.

Users outside New Zealand

The information we collect may be processed in and transferred between your location and New Zealand. New Zealand may not have equivalent information protection laws to those in force in your location.
